Proboulos
Proboulos (πρόβουλος, plural probouloi, πρόβουλοι) was the denomination of one of the magistrates of Ancient Greece. Sometimes it is castellaniza like "próbulo".
It was supposed to be a charge created during the Peloponnesian War to confront the plight of Athens; and that they would be chosen to play it to well-respected old men.
Among the most notable probouloi were the author of tragedies Sophocles and the strategos Hagnón.
In the comedy Lisistrata, a proboulos holds a long debate with the protagonist.
