Krähenbeißer
Crowbuckers (Krajebieter) were called the fishermen of the Curonian Spit, who caught crows in the autumn with birdwatching.
Captured tame or recently captured birds and ejected fish wrecks lured crows. The ravine, camouflaged in the sand, was served by a small Reisighhütte. On a good day, more than 60 crows were caught. A bite in the cranium left her immediately. They were cured and served as a winter food. The "Nehrungstuben" were also sold to large restaurants and hotels and appeared as a delicacy under their own name on the menu. In the Königsberg hotel "Continental" there were still crowded crowds as a specialty of the house until the Second World War. Edit source text Single-level Edit source text
