Anna Holzer


Anna Holzer (born April 29, 1871 in Gmünd, Germany) was an Austrian politician (CSP) and teacher. Holzer was a member of the Landtag of Lower Austria from 1921 to 1934.

Holzer worked as a teacher in Vienna and later lived as professor gattin in Krems on the Danube. She belonged to the municipal council of Krems and was active as chairman of the Catholic women's organization of the diocese of St. Pölten. She was the first female parliamentary deputy in the Christian Social Party, representing her in the Lower Austrian Parliament between 11 May 1921 and 30 October 1934. Anna Holzer had four children, among them Hildegard Holzer, who was the first director of the seminary for ecclesiastical women's professions in Vienna (Obersanktveit) from 1945 to 1968.
