José Ramón Carabante

José Ramón Carabante de la Plaza (born in Malaga in 1952) holds a law degree. He is married and has a son.

He is a Spanish businessman well known in the sports world for being a sponsor and patron, since he was owner until 2013 of the Basketball Club Murcia of the ACB League, before its sale to José Luis Mendoza Pérez and president (until mid-2011 ) of the Spanish team of Formula 1 Hispania Racing (formerly known as Campos Meta) which was directed by Colin Kolles and debuted in the 2010 season, as well as being president of companies such as Grupo 2002 and Grupo Hispania. He is also known in the art world for owning a valuable art gallery.

He is one of the great entrepreneurs of the Region of Murcia. In 2009, he created a joint venture with the former minister Miguel Boyer.
