An ancient aquarium is an aquarium that does not need regular water changes. Only the evaporated water is replaced, or a partial water change is carried out if necessary. It is therefore a water-saving form of aquaristics. The followers of the aquatic aquarium are familiar with the fact that the self-cleaning power of the sewage sludge (mud) in the filter and substrate as well as the plants are sufficient to keep the water clean. For a working aquatic aquarium an adapted stocking density with fish and the type and quantity of the feeding are also of importance.
By checking the water values by means of analyzes or also the observation of animals and plants, a necessary water change is determined. Especially after the eruption of diseases by the introduction of new plants or animals a water change can be necessary. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
