Exacerbation

Exacerbation is the transient increase in the severity of a symptom or disease.

It depends sometimes on the proper course of the condition and others is due to real complications. In the former case, exacerbations can sometimes be anticipated with some fixedness because of their periodic type (malaria, gout, urticaria). Not always the exacerbation carries with it the greater gravity of the case. In some cases, the exacerbation also refers to the increase of a social phenomenon that generates alterations of public order in a territory or zone (in some cases, to entire countries) such as gangs, insurgents, paramilitaries, mafias, among others.
