Cave of Rocafort


The cave of Rocafort is located in the municipality of Rocafort (Valencia) Spain. It is a small eneolítico burial discovered in the subsoil of a street of Rocafort in 1933.

A round slab of about 70 centimeters in diameter appeared on the ground, covering a hole that gave way to a cove of 6.40 by 5.70 and 1.80 meters in height. Looted immediately upon being discovered, a skull, classified as a young woman, and some human remains, as well as fragments of a ceramic bowl, could still be recovered from the Prehistoric Research Service; a dagger of tongue, of copper; five arrowheads of peduncle and fins, a scraper, a knife and a lamella, all in flint; a pierced hematoma purpura pendant; a wild boar fang; a sheet of bone and more than 3,500 necklace beads of various materials.

During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) it was used as an air raid shelter.
