day
Foundation of the Etruscan temple in Tarquinia, stage of the legend Tages.
Tages is a god of Etruscan mythology, assimilated by the Romans.
One day came from a clod of earth, beneath a farmer's plow, near Tarquinia. His size was that of a dwarf, but from his birth and childhood, despite appearances, uttered words of profound wisdom: it was he who taught divination and aruspicine to the Etruscans. He is credited with prophetic books (libri rituals). He taught the art of reading the future in the bowels of a sacrificial animal (hieroscopy and hepatoscopy). Bibliography
