Walmor Battú Wichrowski received the sacrament of priest ordination for the bishopric of Santa Maria on 23 December 1945.
Pope Pius XII. appointed him to the titular bishop of Sanavus and the auxiliary bishop of Santos on 14 February 1958. The coadjutor of Santa Maria, Luís Victor Sartori, gave him the bishop's consecration on the 25th of May next year; Co-conspirators were the Bishop of Santos, Idílio José Soares, and the Bishop of Passo Fundo, João Cláudio Colling. On June 15, 1958, the diocesan took place in the diocese of Santos.
On April 23, 1960 Pope John XXIII. the first bishop of the previous diocese of Nova Iguaçu. As early as May 31, 1961, he renounced the diocese of Nova Iguaçu. Pope John XXIII. appointed him with the same date to the titular bishop of Phelbes and the auxiliary bishop of Santa Maria.
He took part in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a councilor. In 1965, he was relieved of his duties as auxiliary bishop in Santa Maria.
On May 27, 1971, Pope Paul VI appointed the first bishop of the diocese of Cruz Alta. After disagreements arose, the pope accepted his renunciation of the bishopric of Cruz Alta on November 16, 1972, and appointed him once again to the titular bishop of Phelbes. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
