Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management

Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management (JIEM) is an open access journal that publishes articles following a peer review process that contribute to the understanding of phenomena related to all aspects of industrial engineering and management.

JIEM was born on June 6, 2008 as an initiative of Vicenc Fernandez, Pep Simo, Jose M. Sallan and Mihaela Enache, editors of the magazine and professors of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain). The aim of the journal is to publish theoretical and empirical articles that allow to contrast and broaden existing theories and construct new theories that contribute to the understanding of the phenomena related to all aspects of industrial engineering and management in organizations. JIEM includes contributions, though not only, in the following fields:

Contributions adopt methodological approaches that confirm (quantitative) or explanatory (mainly qualitative). Theoretical tests that allow the construction or extension of theoretical approaches are also accepted. JIEM selects articles to be published through a peer review system, following the practices of quality scientific journals.

JIEM is published exclusively on the network on a semi-annual basis, following an open access policy to promote advances in scientific knowledge and make it available to everyone. Online publishing helps reduce publishing costs and streamlines the review and editing process.
