Johann Georg Ehbruster (* 1678; † May 22, 1767) was a master builder who lived in Schwechat near Vienna and, together with his son Johann Nikolaus Ehbruster, built the baroque parish church of St. James in Schwechat according to his own plans > Edit LifeQualtext

The church tower was built by Johann Georg Ehbruster himself in 1757, the church building in 1764 and 1765 - after the demolition of the dilapidated predecessor church by his son Johann Nikolaus.

Johann Georg Ehbruster was appointed 1758 to the emeritus market judge of Schwechat. He had settled in Schwechat, Hauptplatz 19 in 1722, and practiced his trade as a master of bricklaying. He returned the Masters rights before the beginning of the church building in favor of his son Johann Nikolaus. Johann Georg Ehbruster had ten children with his wife Katharina, born Ridl. The couple were buried in the church crypt of the Schwechater branch church to the Holy Trinity, formerly known as the Kapuzinerkirche or Liebfrauenkirche. Edit the source text
