Vicente Alcober y Largo (born in Alcañiz on October 19, 1822, in 1887) was a polyglot and linguist from Spain. Biography
He studied Latin and humanities and pursued the Philosophy career in Zaragoza.
He went to Paris to work in the Societe Assiatique, and when he returned to Spain he worked in the Department of Languages in the Ministry of State. Later he was professor of several institutes, beginning with the one of Murcia.
Its importance lies in its ease in languages, of which 40 were spoken, being considered the first polyglot of the modern age. Works
