Union of Forces for Democracy and Development

The Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD) is a league of Chadian rebel groups against the current president Idriss Déby. It was founded in October 2006 under the leadership of Mahamat Nouri.

The guerrilla began its activity on 22 October 2006 when the newly formed Union attacked the city of Goz Beida. After confusing information it was learned that the Union had captured the city, with several other cities like Am Timan. Later they began to take power with other cities from the desert north until arriving in the fertile south to the capital of the first country in the First battle of N'Djamena where they were repelled by the intervention of the French army and soon in the one of 2008 with greater success.
