Peter Wolfram Michor (born 20 May 1949 in Villach) is an Austrian mathematician.
Michor studied mathematics at the University of Vienna and, with Johann Cigler, published the topic "Functors on categories of Banach spaces". He is the author of over 130 scientific publications. From 1992 to 2003, he was the director of the Erwin-Schrödinger-Institute for Mathematical Physics, from 1995 to 1998 secretary of the European Mathematical Society, Chairman of the Committee on Electronic Information and Communication (CEIC) of the International Mathematical Union. Michor is an extraordinary university professor at the University of Vienna, since 2010 retired. Michor's research focuses on differential geometry, diffeomorphism groups and shape spaces.
