The Lordship of Jabalquinto is a hereditary Spanish noble title of the Crown of Castile created at the beginning of the fifteenth century, when the head of the House of Benavides -Dia Sanchez- divides its territories between his three children.

The third of them, Manuel de Benavides, belonged to the free goods, not linked to the Mayorazgo, which the lineage possessed in the Kingdom of Jaén. The estate consisted of:

However, Día Sánchez himself rectifies his will, and in a codicilium granted in Lisbon on February 19, 1413 states that at his death these possessions would pass to his wife, Maria de Mendoza.

Notwithstanding the above, the first-born, Men Rodriguez II, appropriated all the goods of the lineage; although shortly after, in 1444, the original heir Manuel de Benavides manages to snatch from his brother these territories and to found with them the señorío of Jabalquinto in 1461.

In 1484 Juan de Benavides founded three mayorazgos: the first of them, linked to the señorío of Jabalquinto, fell to its first-born Manuel II.

Finally, in 1617, Philip III elevated the lordship to the dignity of Marquesado de Jabalquinto in the figure of Manuel III de Benavides. Señores de Jabalquinto
