The fortress Euschels A 1743 (Plannummer 3068 b2) was a fortification on the border of the Swiss reduit at the southwest foot of the Kaiseregg. The fortress lay in the area of the 1st Division, and consisted of three bunkers, whose crews were ordered to block the route from the Schwarzsee towards Jaun, the Euschelspass.
The main body was equipped with two 7.5 cm guns and machine guns. To the fortress belonged still two opposites and a hidden command-room with a military cableway. The counterparts each had a tank box (or infantry cannon) and a machine gun. The command post was armored with light machine guns. The cable car led up from the village of Jaun to the Euschels. The guns of the fortress looked towards Schwarzsee-Plaffeien. They should support the blockade Zollhaus with artillery fire. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
