Andreu Escuder was a master builder and Catalan architect of the fifteenth century.
BiographyDue to the earthquake in Catalonia in 1428, the rosette of the church of Santa MarĂa del Mar was destroyed, which was later rebuilt in 1459, commissioned by Andreu Escuder and other construction masters.
Architect active in Barcelona, he was appointed master of works of the cathedral of Barcelona on March 10, 1442. The works carried out in the temple during his masters period were the chapter room, the choir and mainly in the cloister , where he built the Fuente de San Jorge in 1449. He resigned his position in 1463, his nephew Bartomeu Mas, who was appointed master on July 21 of that year, took his place. Bibliography
