Alfredo Núñez de Borbón (born August 8, 1908 in Mexico City, † December 10, 1979) was a Mexican violinist and composer.
Núñez began playing the violin as a child and studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Mexico Solfège at Estanislao Mejía, violin with José Rocabruna and piano with Pedro Luis Ogazón. At the age of seventeen he undertook a trip to Atlanta with the orchestra of Miguel Lerdo de Tejada. From there he went to New York, where he continued his musical education and earned his living as a silent film player and organist. He appeared with the band Ruso Gitano, played with his own orchestra on a German transatlantic ship, at Hotel Beverly Terrace and was hired by Sam Getz for the Club Mirador.
For a long time, he accompanied Lynn Boytler, an actor with the actor Arcady Boytler, and signed a contract with the Mexican radio station XEW. He then became a member of the broadcaster, working on programs such as La Hora Azul, Medias Emperor, Mueblería Nueva and Joyería La Princesa, and accompanied Agustín Lara and Gabilondo Soler on the violin. As a composer he performed with songs, bolero, pasodobles and rancheras and was known as El Caballero Mexicano de la Canción Romántica. As a co-founder of the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de Música (SACM), the company signed him in 1971 with a certificate. In the same year he received prizes from the Promotora Hispanoamericana de Música (PHAM) of the Editorial Mexicana de Música Internacional. In 1972, he was awarded the Medal of the Festival Internacional Agustín Lara. Edit sourcetext Standard data (person): LCCN: no2011097020 VIAF: 171842823 | Wikipedia People Search
