Norton Desktop is a file management and utility solution from Symantec, which was launched in 1991. All subprograms are combined in a seamless graphical interface. Among the utilities were the well-known Norton Backup program and Norton Disk Doctor, a collection of utilities for system information and file recovery from Norton Utilities. Norton Desktop was first published for Microsoft Windows 3.x, a year later Norton Desktop for DOS appeared, a DOS interface, which did not require any installed Windows.
