Pantano del Valvanera

The Valvanera reservoir is a Spanish reservoir located in the middle course of the Valvanera river, in Santibáñez de Béjar, southeast of the province of Salamanca, Castilla y León, Spain. Pantano del Valvanera ice cream

It was unused in 2012, after a construction that lasted for 2 ½ years. Its construction has been carried out with the objective of allocating its waters to the irrigation through several channels and underground pipes. It is located just 200 m from the municipality of Santibáñez de Béjar, and its waters are the river Valvanera or Mataviejas. It is located at 914 m altitude. Before the marsh there was a lagoon, which has facilitated the construction and access of marsh water. It has a capacity for 455,000 liters of water, a height of 5.5 to 6 meters, a width of 23 meters and a length of 46 meters respectively. It was inaugurated on June 24, 2012, the day of San Juan, after 2 years and several months of construction.
