League of Ten Jurisdictions

The League of Ten Jurisdictions was the political alliance of various Alpine communities in the fifteenth century, following the model of the Swiss cantons and other leagues of the Graubünden region. To the death without heirs men of the last count of Togenburgo diverse communities neighboring of the valleys alpinos proposed to defend their rights against possible suitors to the condal dignity counting on the symbolic support of the widow of the count. Meanwhile, a war broke out between the canton of Zurich and the rest of the Swiss confederation over the domination of the count's inheritance. Training of the Three Leagues The Three Leagues in 1512
In 1450, the League of Ten Jurisdictions allied with the neighboring League of the House of God to later form a new alliance with a third partner, the Gray League giving rise to the union known as Three Leagues, Gray Leagues, or Grisons, which was also the name as the inhabitants of this area would be known.
Later they allied themselves to the Swiss confederation, although without forming part of it.
