José Duato Chapa

José Duato Chapa (Moncada, 26 November 1899 - Valencia, 15 March 1990) was a politician from the Valencian Community, Spain.

Together with Luis Lucía Lucía founded the political party Derecha Regional Valenciana that later was integrated in the Spanish Confederation of Autonomous Rights during the Second Republic, candidacy with which it was deputy. Although he supported the rebels during the Civil War, his democratic monarchical convictions and the support of Juan de Borbón made him separate from the Francoist politics, developing his work in organizations officially linked to the Catholic Church of the moment in Spain, as Action Catholic or the National Catholic Association of Propagandists. During the democratic transition witnessed the formation of the Christian Democrat Unió Democràtica of the Valencian Country.
