Gregorio (antipapa)
Gregory VI, antipope of the Catholic Church.
On the death of Pope Sergius IV in May 1012, Gregory opposed the election of Benedict VIII as a new Roman pontiff, and was proclaimed "pope", apparently by a small faction. Immediately he was expelled from Rome going to Germany to request aid to the king Enrique II 25 of December of 1012. The king promised to him that the case would be studied in detail as determined by the Canon Law and the Roman custom. While the problem was being solved, he stripped him of the papal symbols and ornaments which he carried with him and ordered him to cease to act as a legitimate pope. From that moment Gregorio disappears of History.
