Falgote
The shipyards of Falgote in Colindres, Cantabria, were one of the first shipyards of Spain, and they began to function from 1475. They happened to be Reales the 10 of April of 1618 by means of an agreement between Felipe III of Spain and the Brotherhood of the Four Villas of the Coast of Cantabria. The embedded situation of the place protected, in theory, the incursions of the enemy fleets.
But the constant attacks of the French, and the decline of Laredo with respect to Santander as the main port of the region, caused them to move to another place.
There is a theory that the caravels of the discovery of the Pinta and the Santa MarĂa (most likely), and also several galleons of the Invincible Armada, were built in it.
