Electors of Bolivar

Bolivar Electors (EB) is a left-center regional political party of Bolivar State, Venezuela. It was founded on February 6, 2004 by the then governor of that state Antonio Rojas Suárez after separating from the Movement V Republic (MVR). Its motto is "Walking towards the progress of the Bolivar State".

Bolivar voters were one of the parties charged with collecting signatures against President Hugo Chávez for the recall of power in August 2004, but Chávez was finally reaffirmed in his post. The regional party had as main intention to serve as the basis for the re-election of Rojas Suárez for the regional elections of 2004, however, did not manage to win in those elections but obtained two of the eleven mayors of the state and was placed like the third greater party of that entity with 6.6% of the votes, after being surpassed by the MVR and Acción Democrática (AD).

In January 2008, political parties opposed to the administration of Hugo Chavez signed an Agreement of National Unity, according to which they would be able to apply for unitary candidates throughout Venezuela for the regional elections of November of that year; Electors of Bolivar did not sign the agreement but promised to comply, although the struggles with another party with force in Bolivar that if it forms part of the agreement, La Causa R have made that the unitary candidature is not fulfilled and keep constant frictions. / p>
