Annals Ryenses
The Annales Ryenses (Ryd Annals, also Chronicon Erici Regis, Danish: Rydårbogen), are medieval chronicles of the history of Denmark from the reign of Dan (who gave the name to the nation) to Erico VI. The work began to be written soon after the arrival of the Cistercian monks to the abbey of Ryd towards 1210 and was concluded in 1288. Of the style it follows that the chroniclers were all monks of Jutland and whose perspective differs little from other writers contemporaries like Saxo Grammaticus. The tone of the writings are openly anti-German.
