Pirando was a daily childrens broadcast on Swiss Radio DRS 1. Pirando was to be heard daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on DRS 1 from 3 March 2008 to 29 August 2010. It was launched with the relaunch of the DRS 1 program. Previously the shows were half an hour (SiggSaggSugg) on the workdays and an entire hour (looping) and a quarter hour (children's club) on Sunday. On 30th August 2010, Pirando was replaced by Swiss radio DRS and Schweizer Fernsehen by the new trimediale program Zambo, whereby the broadcasting time, many headings, most moderators as well as a few headings remained in the radiosend.

On the website of the show, 15-year-olds could register and participate in a Swiss-wide community. There was a chat ("chat box"), you could blog, as well as exchange messages. Pirando was considered one of the safest communities, because the identity of each user was checked before the profile was unlocked and the user was able to run various virtual activities on the site. Through the community many children got the chance to participate in the radio design. So every user was able to vote for the best song of the week every day at "Hit-Pirando". When 2010 Pirond was replaced by Zambo, the users could import their profile into the new community. At Drspirando.ch you could apply as a "children reporter". They had the opportunity to help shape the program with their own contributions such as interviews or background revisions. EditQualtext

DRS Pirando won the prestigious Zurich Radiopreis in 2008. The Board of Trustees justified its decision by saying that the broadcast is multimedial and that it is targeted with an imaginative and entertaining offer to the radio audience of the future.
