Great Bargainers at Barsikow

The large-scale grenadiers at Barsikow were several probably megalithic grave sites of unknown numbers from the Neolithic period near Barsikow, a district of Wusterhausen / Dosse in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin (Brandenburg). They were destroyed during road construction in the 1820s and 1840s. Edit the source text

According to Leopold von Ledebur, a grave was cleared in 1828-29 northeast of Barsikow, on a sandy hill south of the Rohrlake. In 1843, this happened a little further west with further graves. Edit source text

The facilities are described by Ledebur only as coherent stone bearings from flat stone slabs. Hans-Jürgen Beier sees this as a to megalithic tombs. When the graves were destroyed to obtain building materials for road construction, human bones as well as ceramic vessels were found, some of which were pots, partly flat bowls. A cultural assignment is not possible on the basis of this information. Edit source text
