Ulrich Pfefferhard (* before 1279; † 25th November 1351) was Bishop of Constance from 1357 to 1383. Edit LifeQualtext

Ulrich comes from a wealthy Constance patrician family. His brother Johannes I Pfefferhard was Bishop of Chur. He studied in Bologna from 1314 to 1316, where he was also procurator of the German nation. Ulrich was the possessor of numerous pastoral services: from 1319 he was a pastor in Ermatingen, a canon to St. Johann in Konstanz and Schönenwerd, 1332 a canon to Konstanz, from 1337 Domdekan. In 1344, he was elected bishop of Constance as the first bourgeois. The disputes between the pope and the emperor had financially disturbed the proletariat. After the death of Louis the Bavarians came to a consensus, and Bishop Ulrich lifted up the interdict imposed on the city on April 4, 1349. Edit source text
