The Alt-Prerau estate, also known as the Alt-Prerau Castle, is located in the Lower Austrian town of Wildendürnbach and north-east of Laa on the Thaya in the Laaer plain, close to the border to the Czech Republic. The residential building of the manor is of a castle-like design and formerly there was a baroque garden in the north.

The village of Alt-Prerau was designated as abandoned in 1568, only the former estate remained intact. After several changes of ownership, Julius Meinl acquired the estate company in 1932, built it and built a canteen factory and a slaughterhouse in 1940. The then manager of the estate acquired the estate in 1944, but could not repair the war damage thereafter and has only used the arable land ever since.
