Bintsuke

Bintsuke (jap. 鬢 付 け) also Bintsuke-abura (鬢 付 け 油) is a Japanese pomade made mainly of wax and hardened camomile oil. Simpler qualities use instead the cheaper rapeseed oil. The odorless mixture is perfumed in the preparation so that it has a characteristic, sweet scent.

Bintsuke is available in cans or in bars with different consistencies. It is melted by the body heat in the hands and gives the hair hold and strong shine. Today it is only used to form traditional hairstyles and wigs in the Kabuki Theater, Geisha and Sumo. Edit source text
