Institute of Cultural Studies Konstanz

The Kulturwissenschaftliche Kolleg Konstanz was founded in October 2007 in connection with the Excellence Initiative of the Federation and the Länder. It is located in the former Constance bishop's villa on the banks of Lake Seer.

The "Cluster of Integration" Cultural Foundations in cooperation with the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft is currently the sponsor of the Kolleg. The College offers promoted scientists the opportunity to be released from their other duties for up to one year, in order to be able to pursue a specific research project with which they have previously applied for admission. For the duration of their fellowship, the College is funding a representative for the researchers concerned. Both young scholars and already established scholars in Germany and abroad can apply.

The Kolleg is open to representatives of a wide range of disciplines, including historians and literary scholars, including lawyers, ethnologists and administrative scientists working in the field of cultural studies. Among the past fellows were Kai Trampedach, Egon Flaig, Klaus Herbers, Nino Luraghi, Jürgen Osterhammel, Ronald G. Asch and Ulrich Gotter. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
