Gerd Brand (politician)


Gerd Brand (* 19 April 1973 in Tamsweg) is an Austrian politician (SPÖ). He has been a member of the Salzburger Landtag since 2015. Edit LifeQualtext

Gerd Brand visited the polytechnic school in Tamsweg after the Volksschule in Sankt Margarethen im Lungau and the Hauptschule in Sankt Michael im Lungau. After a probationary year, he completed a three-year apprenticeship as a mason, which he completed in 1992. Subsequently, he worked until 2002 as a bricklayer and until 2009 as a polisher. From 2004 to 2006 he trained as a polisher at the Bauakademie Salzburg.

Since 2009, he has been an employee of the SPÖ Salzburg and mayor of Sankt Margarethen im Lungau. Since 2014 he has also been district spokesman for the SPÖ in the Lungau region. On 18 March 2015 he was promoted as a deputy to the Salzburg Landtag in the succession of Andreas Haitzer in the 15th legislative period. In the Salzburger Landtag, he is a member of the Finance Committee, the Committee on Infrastructure, Transport and Housing as well as the Education, School, Sports and Culture Committee.
