Wilhelm of Cologne

Wilhelm von Köln is a painter mentioned in the city from 1370 to 1390 in Cologne, which is regarded as the head of the older painting school in Cologne, but no works can be proven with certainty. Its name is a collective concept for a series of altarpieces from the end of the 14th century, whose main features are fervent piety and delicate grace, especially in the characteristics of the female figures. Pictures of this kind can be found in the museum and in various churches, including Cologne, Munich, Nuremberg, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin.

A memorial placard about him is in the Walhalla in Donaustauf. Edit source text Standard data (person): GND: 129043044 (PICA, AKS) | VIAF: 15837946 | Wikipedia People Search
