History

Mahatma Gandhi started fasting on September 20, 1932, while staying in Yerwada jail of Pune, against the acceptance of separate electoral system for the Dalits by the British Government. As soon as the correspondence between Mahatma Gandhi and the British government was published, news of his fast started on 20th September, which had a huge reaction across the country. In his statement to the Bombay Government on September 15, Mahatma Gandhi said, "The decision of fasting is done in accordance with the order of God in the name of God, by his work and as I humbly adhere to it. To make the soul of the Hindus become Satujaj, and to question the untouchable sections, being mainly religious, I consider it a special question. " On the one hand, a nationwide demand for change of that governmental decision came to an end and on the other hand the feeling of abolishing untouchability was awakened. There were several meetings of national leaders to resolve this, which resulted in the Yerawada agreement, also called Poona Pact. On this treaty on September 24, 1932, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and M. C. Raja signed on behalf of the Dalits and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya on behalf of the upper castes. With this agreement, the Harijan Sevak Sangh came into being and the Dalits got a holy name like Harijan. Yarda agreement

Madan Mohan Malviya signed by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and MC Raja on behalf of the Dalits of India and Mahan Mohan Malaviya on behalf of the upper castes in Yerwada Jail on September 24, 1932, under which the amendment in the communal award With the abandonment of the primary election board for the dalit class, 147 places in place of 71 in the provincial legislative councils and 18 copies of the total seats in the central legislature. Conditions were seats. Then, on September 26, 1932, in the presence of Rabindranath Thakur, Gandhiji said, breaking his fast, saying that improving the prevention of untouchability within a reasonable time, if not done with good faith, then I will certainly have to fast with fresh rehearsals. But Gandhiji did not need to fast on this topic because on the fourth day on September 30, 1932, there was a meeting chaired by Madan Mohan Malviya in Bombay, in which all the Hindu leaders of the country decided that an all-India for the prevention of untouchability Anti-Untouchable Anti-Untouchability League to be established, whose head office is in Delhi and whose branches are located in different provinces In addition, the following programs should be run to fulfill the object of elimination of untouchability.

According to this decision, the All India organization named as the Prostitution Board was formed, whose original constitution was prepared by Mahatma Gandhi in his handwriting. This institution was further named as the Hariri Seva Sangh, whose headquarters is located in Kingsway Camp Delhi. The first head of this association was appointed Shri Ghanshyamdas ji Birla and earlier this became known as Shri Amritlal Bittaladas Thakkar ji Thakkar Baba. Harijan Words

Mahatma Gandhi made the first use of the word Harijan in his statement and wrote, "It is true to say that Harijan is one of the most sad in India, Harijan means, the devotee of God, beloved of God. In one of his hymns, the devotee Narsi Mehta has described the untouchables as Harijan. In this view, the word Harijan is appropriate for untouchable brothers, I believe. " Moropant-Grantholi's editor-publisher R. D. Paradkar also saw Harijan's post in a certified verse of Moropant and told Mahatma Gandhi. In his remarks, he said that only as Narasimha Mehta, the evidence is found in the compositions of other saints. Harijan's name was untouchable of untouchables, untouchables, etc., hence the name got instant approval for social acceptance. director
