Bruno Gęstwicki
Brunon Gęstwicki, German: Bruno Gestwicki, (born February 2, 1882 in Marienwerder, West-East Prussia, Germany, December 8, 1969 in Toruń) was a Polish painter and illustrator
Gęstwicki spent the first years of his life in his birthplace. As a result of a move of his parents he lived from 1886 in Torun. After completion of the school education he studied at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. Afterwards, he worked as a draftsman in Berlin from 1905-1919, producing a variety of caricatures among others for the magazine Lustige Blätter, founded by Alexander Moszkowski. He also illustrated books. After the end of the First World War, he returned to Thorn and moved increasingly to portrait painting. He stayed in his home even after it came to Poland.
