Native Sant Ramkrishna Paramhans was born on February 18, 1836 in Kamarpukur village, Bengal province. His childhood name was Gadadhar. His name was Khudiram and his name was Chandramani Devi. According to his devotees, Ramkrishna's parents had experienced supernatural events and scenes even before his birth. His father Khudiram in Gaya saw a dream in which he saw that Lord Gadhada (the incarnation of Vishnu) told him that he would be born as his son. He soon came in close contact with the well-known thinkers who were leading ideas in Bengal. These can be named for Keshavchandra Sen, Vijayakrishna Goswami, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar.
