Pinky finger (foot)

The little finger of the foot corresponding to the homonymous finger - also known as the fifth finger [V] of the foot - is the fifth most internal (or first most external) toe of the foot.

It is the last and smallest of the fingers. The role of the little finger is to help center the foot in its support. Facilitates balance and position of the sole of the foot. With the shoes on, the truth is that you hardly exercise. In fact, we could walk without it, as do mountaineers who have suffered amputations by freezing.

It is classified under the code A01.2.08.040 and under the Latin names of digitus minimus pedis and digitus quintus [V] pedis. The corresponding finger and region of the hand is called the little finger of the hand or fifth finger of the hand.
