Lomatiya Tasmanica

Lomata Tasmanica or Kings Lomatia is a Tasmanian herb of the Protacy Total. The leaves of this plant are bright green and it produces pink flowers but, it does not produce any fruits or seeds. It is believed that there is only one surviving settlement of King Lomatiya in the forest.

Lomata tasmanika is therefore extraordinary because all its remaining plants are genetically identical. In this there are three sets of haploid chromosomes (3x = triplicate), hence it is infertile or sterile, it grows only when its branch falls on the ground and produces its own root (root).

Although all plants are technically different because each has their own basic system, but collectively it is the rodent of living plants for the most part of time. The life span of each plant is almost 300 years, but the plant may have been producing its rodents, at least for the past 43600 years (possibly from 135,000 years). This estimate is based on radiation dating of fossilized leaves, found at 8.5 km away. The cell structure and size of fossilized residues and contemporary plants are also similar, which indicates that both plants are triple and therefore produce rodents due to the extremely rare occurrence of triplication.
