The Sena Dynasty was the name of a dynasty, which established its dominion over the Bengal from the middle of the 12th century. The Sen Dynasty ruled Bengal for 160 years. The origin of this lineage was Karnataka. There were many temples in this period. It is assumed that Ballal Sen constructed the Dhakeshwari temple. Poet Jayadev (author of the song-Govind) was the Pashtran of Lakshman Sen. introduction
The king of this lineage, who regards himself as Karnat Kshatriya, Brahma Kshatriya and Kshatriyas, regards their origins as mythological heroes, who are considered to be the rulers of the southwest or south. In the 9th, 10th and 11th centuries, some Jain preachers lived in Dharwar district of Mysore state, which belonged to the Sen Dynasty. It can not be said for certain that the Bengal army had many relations with the family of these Jain preachers. Still, there is a good evidence to believe that Bengal's original habitation was south. From the time of Devpal, the Pala Emperors appointed foreign adventurers in official positions. Some of them belonged to the country of Karnataka. In time, these officers, who came from the south, became rulers and called themselves the prince. Samant Sen was the first ruler of the Sen Dynasty of Bengal in this family of princes.
Samantasena increased its reputation by defeating a ruler of the south, probably the Rajindachol of the Dravidian country. Vijayasen, the grandson of Samantasena, was about to establish his family's reputation. He ended the Verman rule of Wang, established his capital in Vikrampur, ousted Madan Pal of Palvanesh and took possession of Gauda, defeated Nanyadev and defeated Mithila, against the people of Gahan, attacked by the siege of the Ganges, Assam Attacked, attacked Orissa and defeated Raghav, son of Anant Verma of Chodgang, ruler of Kalinga. He built a temple of a Pradyumneshwar Shiva in the Barndrithi. Vijayasen's son and successor, Wallal Sen was a scholar and a social reformer. Ballalsen's son and successor Lakshman Sen successfully attacked Kashi at Gharhwal and Assam, but around 1202 it had to be dedicated to West and North Bengal Muhammad Khalji. For some years it has been ruling in Wang. Its heirs ruled there till the middle of the 13th century, after which Devavans took over the sovereign authority over the country. Sen was the antitrust of the emperor.
