In order to propagate the national language in Marathi language, Mahatma Gandhi Bhasha Sabha was established in Poona by the inspiration of Gandhiji. Under the chairmanship of Acharya Kakasaheb Kalelkar, on May 22, 1937, the conference of creative workers, political and cultural leaders of Maharashtra concluded in Poona, in which an organization was formed in the name of Maharashtra Hindi Publicity Committee. For eight years this committee, affiliated with the National Language Publicity Committee, Wardha. Due to differences in language theory, this organization broke the connection with the Conference and the Wardha Committee. On October 12, 1945, there was a meeting of the main workers of Maharashtra, which decided to work independently. The institution was now working under the name of "Maharashtra Rashtrabhasha Sabha".
Meeting policy
The following principles are the cornerstone of the meeting policy:
(1) In the territories, the place and the values of regional languages remain intact. The national language should be used for interpersonal behavior.
(2) National language preaching is a great creative work of the rebuilding of the nation and the promotion of national unity.
(3) The national language forms are universal. Our interpretation of the national language is as follows: The one language which is used for centuries in the country for inter-regional behavior, is generally our national language. For this, the three names of Hindi, Urdu and Hindustani are valid.
(4) The development of the national language can be accomplished with the contact of the regional languages of the country. Work
According to the legislation and rules of the House, the working committee and the governing body are elected at the time set by the members of different categories. Hindi proponents, Hindi scholars, creative workers and social workers have been given proportional representation in the Regulatory Board and Regulatory Committee in accordance with the Legislative Assembly meeting, so that the structure of the organization of the organization can not be just as a publicity institution but as a student of education. (1) Preparation of Hindi textbooks as per the requirements of Marathi language speakers
(2) Publication of unpublished books for enhancing exchanges between Hindi and Marathi literature

(4) Promoting comparative study and research of Hindi and Marathi languages and literature.
In order to meet these requirements, the Assembly has published about 150 books and continued publication of two Hindi monthly magazines.
