Rao Maldev
Rao Maldev was the son of Jodhpur ruler Rao Ganga Rathod. He was born on 1568 Nos. 1 to 1 (1511 December 5). After the death of his father, sitting on Marwad's throne in Sojot in V. 1588 (AD 1531). At that time, his rule was only on the parishes of Sojot and Jodhpur. Jatropha, Pokan, Phalodi, Barmer, Kotda, Khed, Mahewa, Shivana, Merta etc, according to the necessity, Jodhpur used to give only military aid to the king. But in all other ways they were independent rulers of their respective territories. In the history of Marwar, the rule of Rao Maldev is called Marwar's "Shaurya Yuga". Rao Maldev was the great warrior of his era, great winner and lord of vast empire. He established a vast empire with his power. Maldives, from Sivana Jaitmalot Rathod, Chautatan, Parkar and Khabar Parmaras, from Raipur and Bhadrakun Siddhals, from the Jallor Bihari Pathans, from Malani Maheches, from Marda Viramdev, Nagaur, Sawhar, Deedwana Muslims, from Ajmer Satkhor Chauhan, Jodhpur- Marwar mixed in the state. Thus, Rao Maldev expanded his empire by 1600s. Bikaner and Hisar in the north, Beyna and Dhaulpur in the east, Chittoor in the south and Raghapur and Khabar in the south-west reached its state border. In the west, Bhatis' territory (Jaisalmer) was touching its boundaries. This huge empire was neither founded by Rao Maldeo nor any Rajput ruler after him.
Rao Maldev was a hero but he was also stubborn. Most of the areas they had had from their own feuds. In 1591 (AD 1535), he attacked Merta and grabbed him from Rama Veeramdev. At that time, Rao Viramdev had the right to Ajmer, there too Rao Maldeo took control. Veeramdev went to Delhi Sher Shah Suri after wandering around here. In 1568 (1542 AD), Rao Maldev attacked Bikaner. Rao Jaatasi Bikaner came in the war Bikaner got the right of Maldeo. Rao Jaatiasi's son Kalyanmal and Bhima also went to Delhi Sher Shah. Both Rao Veeramdev and Bhima began to provoke Sher Shah against Maldev.
Humayun was defeated by Sher Shah in Chausa's war, then he was also in Marwar for some time. Veeramdev and Rao Kalyanmal began to request Sher Shah to get help from the hope of getting their lost state. Thus, by stripping the kingdoms of their own captives, Rao Maldeo sowed the seeds of his fall. On the eve of Veeram and Kalyanmal, Sher Shah Suri attacked Maldev with a huge army of his 80,000 soldiers. Maldev was the greatest winner, but he lacked diplomatic deception and the lack of historical vision. The Sher Shah had more diplomatic manipulation and tactical skills.
Both armies put a face-to-face in Sammel-Girari (Pali). Rao Maldev was also with his huge army. Seeing the valiant bravery of Rajputs and seeing the huge army group of Maldives before him, Sher Shah decided to come back frightened. Every day there was a run-out fight in both armies, in which the loss of enemies was greater. At the same time, Veeramdev of Merta adopted the policy of tarpaulin. In the chieftains of Maldev, the Firoz Shahi seals were sent and the orders of Sher Shah in the new shields were made. They wrote that Sardar Rao Maldev would be imprisoned and handed over to Sher Shah. This fake letter had cleverly reached Rao Maldev. From this, Rao Maldev became suspicious of his warlords. Although the warlords tried to resolve their master's doubts in every way, their doubts could not be retired and they returned from the war camp in the night. Marwar's army collapsed Seeing the Jaita, Kumpa etc. the Sardars refused to retreat. Seeing Jaita, Kumpa traveled for the summer with his 12,000 riders in the night. Many soldiers wandered due to the darkness. Early in the morning Sher Shah's army suddenly launched a raid, at that time there were only 6000 soldiers with them. The whole of Rajputs fought against the front lines to protect their country and values and die. In this battle, Rathore Jaita, Kumpa Panchayana Karmasot, Sonarga Akharaj etc. came as the main hero of Marwar. When this dialogue was received by the Sher Shah, he said, "Thank God that somehow the Fatah was achieved, otherwise I would have lost the monarchy of India for a mudhi bajra." This bloody war vishnu vs. 1600 Josh Sud 11 ( 1544 January 5).
Sher Shah ruled over Jodhpur Rao Maldeo went to the mountains of Peoples (Sivana). Due to the death of Sher Shah Suri, Rao Maldeo regained control over Jodhpur in 1603 (AD 1546). Slowly the areas of Marwar were re-captured again. Rao Jaimal again took away Medta. W.C. 1619 Kartik Sudi 12 (1562 November 7) was the son of Lord Rao Maldev. He made 52 wars in his reign. At one time, they had the right to small 58 colonies. Persian historian Rao Maldev has been called 'India's most capable king'.
