Victricii
Saint Victricio, also known as Victricius of Ruan (in Latin: Victricius, French: Victrice, Italian: Vittricio, c 330 - c 407), was bishop of Ruan (393-417), missionary and saint. His holiday is August 7. Biography
Victricio was the son of a Roman legionary and became a soldier as well. However, when he embraced Christianity, he rejected arms. He was arrested and sentenced to death, but was acquitted. He preached the word among the tribes of Flanders, Hainault, and Brabant.
He became bishop of Rouen between 386 and 393. He traveled to Great Britain in 396 to mediate in the dispute between different bishops. He was accused of heresy but was defended by Innocent I and received an important decree of Liber Regularum.
The relics of Vital and Agricola were sent to him in 396, and on the same date the relics of St. Pauline of Nola and others were sent. Victricius wrote The Praise of Saints.
