Gustav Lange was already taught as a child by his father in piano and organ. Later he studied piano, organ, general bass and composition at the Erfurt Conservatory. In the 1860s, Lange wrote to the 500 piano works, including Fantasia, Marches, Polonaises, Mazurcs and transcriptions of famous works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Anton Rubinstein, a. Most of his plays are attributable to the salon music and thus have a not too high degree of difficulty. The piano piece Edelweiß (op. 31) and the Blumenlied (op. 39) are the most famous works of the composer today.
