The Café Libertad 8, is a local located in the street Libertad Chueca neighborhood, in Madrid (Spain). Opened as a café in 1975, it has since become the stage for artists and songwriters. History

At the end of the 19th century, the local street Libertad was a dairy and later a wine shop frequented by political gatherings. It is news that in it had space habitual the railway cell of the PCE, whose central headquarters was in another building of this street, next to turn to the one of the CNT.

From 1994, its owner, Ricardo del Olmo, put the coffee at the disposal of a group of finisecular musicians, getting the place to become one of the nuclei of the new author song, with the presence more or less usual of Pedro Guerra, Rosana, Ismael Serrano, Luis Pastor, Tontxu, Andrés Suárez, Lichis, Carlos Chaouen and Kiko Tovar. In addition to the musical performances, it presents performances of storytelling, reading poetry, photography and painting exhibitions. Its 'L' shaped floor has a first bar area and a second part dedicated to performances, tables and a small stage with a pianola from the beginning of the century, which is still in use.
