Francisco Díaz de León
Francisco Díaz de León (born September 24, 1897 in Aguascalientes, Mexico, December 29, 1975 in Mexico City, Mexico) was a Mexican graphic artist and, in 1968, one of the founding members of the Academia de Artes. Edit LifeQualtext
Díaz de León studied at the Academia de San Carlos from 1917 and attended the outdoor school of Santa Anita in Chimalistac. With his works and techniques, he is one of the pioneers of modern art in Mexico. He used the techniques of cold needle etching, etching, wood and aquatint techniques. He was also a successful university lecturer. He laid the foundations for the creation of the Escuela de Artes del Libro graphic school with his conceptual work for the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP).
