Raisin bread is a bread that contains raisins, usually classified as sweet bread and sometimes combined with cinnamon sugar. It is served roasted or as a dessert, sometimes cut and spread with butter or accompanied by cheese, being common its consumption in the north of Europe.

In Drente and Twente it is relatively consumed, especially in coffee shops. The typical Twente, called krentenwegge, looks like a loaf with a size of 1.5-2 m in length and about 75 cm in width, so it often takes several people to take it. They are often made to celebrate births (especially of the firstborn) by relatives or friends.
