Frassi received piano lessons from the age of eight. In 1992 he earned his concert diploma in the Istituto musicale L. Boccherini of his hometown; In 2000, he graduated from the Istituto Musicale P. Mascagni in Livorno. During this time he was part of the band of Tullio De Piscopo and the Blue Bird Conversation Quintet.
