Joan Jepkorir Aiyabei


Joan Jepkorir Aiyabei (born May 17, 1979 in the Uasin Gishu District) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who has her greatest success in cross-country and street racing.

In 1996 she won the bronze medal in the junior race of the cross-country world championships. In 2001, she became a third at the Route du Vin and triumphed at the Corrida Bulloise as well as the following year.

In 2003, she finished twelfth in the cross-country world championships and won silver with the Kenyan team. A short time later, she won the Giro Media Blenio.

In 2005 she won the Route du Vin. The following year, she became a third at the Cursa Bombers. In 2008 she triumphed at the Barcelona half marathon and in 2009 at the Bredase Singelloop as well as the Grand 10 Berlin. In 2010, a second place at the semi-marathon competition of the Wachau Marathon was followed by a victory at the Kempten-Halbmarathon.
