Robert de Gretham

Robert de Gretham was an Anglo-Norman poet from the mid-13th century. Robert de Gretham, who was a clergyman, composed around 1250 a Miroir (mirror) dedicated to a lady named Aline, a treatise on theology in verse in which was the translation of the gospels intended to be read every Sunday of the year and to which were incorporated a series of accounts of miracles and other edifying stories, which indicates that it was a learned man, judicious and good versifier. He is also the author of a poem of the same type entitled Corset.
